Bridgeport, Conn.-The visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans raced out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back, as STAC (3-2, 2-1 ECC) posted a 16-4 East Coast Conference women's lacrosse win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday evening. UB is now 1-2 overall and in conference play.
Junior Addison Plume (Glen Arm, Md.) led the Purple Knights with two goals, and senior Courtney Hylok (Muskegon, Mich.) and junior Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) had solo tallies for the hosts.
Junior Abbie Jones (Rising Sun, Md.) made eight saves in goal for Bridgeport.
Leanna Iobbi scored a game-high seven goals for the winners and added one assist.
The same two teams will meet again this coming Friday, April 16 at 12 noon in Sparkill, New York.
