Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team played its first road game of the 2021 season on Saturday at Molloy College, as the Purple Knights fell to the host Molloy College Lions in an East Coast Conference contest, 19-6. UB is now 1-1 overall and in the ECC, and Molloy ups its overall record to 2-3 and is now 1-0 in conference action.
Freshman Victoria Smith (Bridgewater, Mass.) and junior Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) led the Purple Knights' offense, as they each netted two goals. Junior Addison Plume (Glen Arm, Md.) and sophomore Tereza Kreuzova (Prague, Czech Republic) each had a single goal for UB. Kreuzova also added three draw controls on the day
Senior Andrea Basilicato (Guilford, Conn.) had five ground balls and three caused turnover on defense for UB.
Junior Abbie Jones (Rising Sun, Md.) made nine saves on the day in the Bridgeport net.
Alyssa Licata led a balanced offensive the victorious Lions with four goals.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will travel to Mercy College for a 4:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday afternoon.
