Sophomore Barbara Orsini Nets Six Goals On The Day And Junior Courtney Forry Contributes Four Points To Reach The 100-Point Mark For Her Career
West Caldwell, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team scored the final three goals of the game to snap a 10-10 tie and post a 13-10 non-conference road win over the host Caldwell University Cougars on Thursday afternoon. With the victory, the Purple Knights are now 2-5 on the season. Caldwell slips to 1-4 overall.
Sophomore Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) had big day on offense for UB netting six goals.
UB junior Courtney Forry (Reinholds, Pa.) had four points on the afternoon scoring three goals and dishing off one assist for Bridgeport, and with those four points, she becomes the fourth player in program history to reach the 100 career point plateau.
Freshman Shyla Murray (Brentwood, N.Y.) put home two goals for the winners on Thursday.
Senior Shannon Colligan (Greenwich, Conn.) had three assists for the Purple Knights, and classmate Ariana Weingrad (Hicksville, N.Y.) had two helpers.
Bridgeport sophomore goalie Cheyanne Gangel (Oakridge, N.J.) made 16 saves on the day to notch her second win of 2018.
