Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team closed out its 2016 season with a Senior Night home game on Saturday versus East Coast Conference rival, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans, and the Purple Knights fell to the visitors, 9-3. UB wraps up 2016 at 5-10 overall and 1-7 in East Coast Conference play. STAC is now 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the ECC.
Freshman Courtney Forry (Reinholds, Pa.), junior Kerry Mackinnon (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and sophomore Abigail Benesh (Horseheads, N.Y.) scored goals for the Purple Knights in the season finale.
In net, UB senior Megan Carney (Norwalk, Conn.) made nine saves, as she closed out her four years in a Bridgeport uniform.
Fellow senior Megan Hughes (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) closed out her career in Purple and White with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
