Purple Knights Still In Search Of First ECC Win
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team got off to a good start at home on Saturday afternoon, but the Purple Knights could not sustain the momentum of 4-1 lead nine minutes into the game, as the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Lady Spartans rallied for a 15-8 East Coast Conference win at Knights Field. UB is now 3-6 overall and 0-5 in conference play. SATC raises its overall record to 7-5, and the Lady Spartans are now 2-3 in the ECC.
A trio of UB players, graduate student Lindsay Kehoe (West Haven, Conn.) and freshmen Emily Catalano (N. Babylon, N.Y.) and Alexia Costa (Providence, R.I.) each netted two goals on Saturday.
The Purple Knights other two goals were netted by freshman Shealyn Scully (Huntington, N.Y.) and Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.).
The UB women's lacrosse team is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at Queens (N.Y.) College. Game time in Flushing is slated for 3:30 p.m.
