Gymnastics Wins Quad Meet in Home Debut
Purple Knights tally season-high score of 193.550.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Competing for the first time at home this season, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team posted a first-place mark of 193.550 on Friday night. The Purple Knights finished with the top score in a quad meet that featured the University of Alaska Anchorage, Ursinus College and Rhode Island College.

Bridgeport has now eclipsed 192 points in two of their first three meets this season. In fact, the Purple Knights' latest performance signifies their second highest score over the last four years.

During a night of stellar efforts, sophomore Lola Sepulveda once again led the way. The Virginia native earned first-place marks in both the bars (9.825) and the floor (9.850) en route to an all-around score of 39.225 (season high).
Sepulveda rounded out her evening with marks of 9.825 on beam and 9.725 on vault.
Speaking of vault, freshman Nova Staruk was sensational in that event. The Massachusetts native registered a first-place score of 9.775. Staruk also impressed in the floor exercise, generating a 9.8000 from the judges—a mark that was only second to Sepulveda.
Sophomore Abigail Kenney followed Staruk on vault with a mark of 9.750. Kenney had a terrific night of her own, placing second in the all-around with a score of 38.475.
As a team, the Purple Knights achieved season highs in both the floor (48.825) and the bars (48.650).
