Women's Gymnastics Wraps Up A Busy Three Days Of Action With Dual Meet Win At Penn

Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team wrapped up a busy stretch of action on Saturday afternoon by win a dual meet at the University of Pennsylvania, 193.650-191.825. After defeating Yale in a home dual meet on Thursday night, UB came right back to score 48.100 on the vault, 48.575 on the bars, 48.475 on the balance beam and 48.500 in the floor exercise.
On the vault, junior Kimberly Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) won the event for the Purple Knights posting a score of 9.800. Classmate Rachel DiCarlo (Harleysville, Pa.) tied for third in the vault at 9.625.
On the bars, junior Christine Liautaud (Cary, Ill.) tied for first place with a score of 9.775 and teammates freshman Maritza Futch (Atlanta, Ga.) and sophomore Brielle Wilchuck (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) tied for second place with scores of 9.750.
On the balance beam, sophomore Carol Chiles (Fairfield, Calif.) and junior Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) tied for first place with scores of 9.875.
Comport was the Purple Knights top finisher in the floor exercise tying for second place with a score of 9.800.
In Saturday's all-around, sophomore Kelsey Campbell (Las Vegas, Nev.) posted a score of 37.850 in the four events.
Up next, the UB women's gymnastics team will host the 2016 ECAC Division II Championship Meet next Saturday, March 19 in the Wheeler Recreation Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
