Women's Gymnastics Posts A Total Of 193.400 At New Hampshire Quad Meet
Purple Knights Right Back In Action On Sunday At Brown
Durham, N.H.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team was back in action on Saturday afternoon at the University of New Hampshire. The Purple Knights finished fourth in the four-team event totaling 193.400 points. Penn State won the event with a score of 197.200. The host UNH Wildcats were second with 196.675 points, and George Washington took third with a score of 195.150.
Bridgeport senior Lissette La Fex (Diamond bar, Calif.) took fifth in Saturday's all-around with a score of 38.625. La Fex tied for first on the bars with a score of 9.850, and she was UB's top finisher on the beam taking eleventh with a score of 9.800.
Senior Melissa Doucette (Somerswoth, N.H.) returned to her home state on Saturday and was Bridgeport's top finished in the floor exercise with a score of 8.875 which put her in a third place tie, and Doucette and classmate Kamri Riles (Ellenwood, Georgia) were the team's top placers on the vault tying for seventh with a score of 9.850.
The Purple Knights wrap up a busy few days of action on Sunday, when they travel to Brown University for a tri-meet that will also feature West Chester University. The meet is slated to begin in Providence, Rhode Island at 1:00 p.m.
