Women's Gymnastics Takes Arizona State To Final Rotation Before Dropping A 196.025-195.725 Dual Meet Decision
Purple Knights Return Home For ECAC D II Championship Meet On March 23.
Tempe, Arizona-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team traveled across the county to face the host Arizona State University Sun Devils on Friday, and the Purple Knights gave their Division I hosts all they could handle before dropping a tight dual meet decision that came down to the final rotation, 196.025-195.765. As a team, UB won the vault on Friday posting a score of 49.225.
UB went one-two in the all-around versus ASU, as sophomore Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) took first with a score of 39.225, and junior Lissette La Fex (Diamond Bar, California) was second with a total of 39.175 for the four events.
Tsikhanovich won the vault with a score of 9.900, and she was second in the floor exercise with a score of 9.875.
La Fex's top performance on the evening came in the beam where she grabbed second place with a score of 9.800.
Senior Monica Mesalles Sallares (Barcelona, Spain) took second in both vault and the floor exercise with score of 9.875.
The UB women's gymnastics team is back in action at home on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. when the Purple Knights host West Chester and Southern Connecticut State in the ECAC Division II Championship.
