Women's Basketball Wins at Caldwell, 63-52
Stephanie McBride, Shakira Hester and Tariah Bryant accounted for nearly 83% of UB’s points.
CALDWELL, N.J. – Continuing a stretch of six straight conference games, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team picked up a 63-52 win at Caldwell on Wednesday night. The victory pushes the Purple Knights' CACC record to 7-5 this season.

In a similar fashion to their game over the weekend, the Purple Knights posted another clutch fourth quarter to help clinch the win.
Only up two heading into the final frame, the visitors rattled off a quick 7-0 run to start the quarter before closing the game with a 19-10 stretch. The Purple Knights shot 50 percent from the floor in the fourth quarter (7-for-14) and outrebounded Caldwell, 12-to-3.
In a close matchup throughout, Bridgeport led by one after the first quarter prior to heading into the locker down 28-27.
Inside the Numbers
It was a trio of Purple Knights that piloted the squad on Wednesday. In fact, the triumvirate of Stephanie McBride, Shakira Hester and Tariah Bryant accounted for nearly 83% of UB's points and 48% of UB's total rebounds.
Senior Shakira Hester put forth her fourth double-double of the season. The Bronx, N.Y. native registered a season-high 20 points, in addition to grabbing 13 rebounds. She added three steals and a pair of blocks as well.
Stephanie McBride racked up a double-double of her own thanks to 18 points and 14 rebounds. She is now averaging exactly 10.0 boards per game which ranks third in the CACC.
Another senior Tariah Bryant served as UB's final double-figure scorer while also leading the team in both steals and assists. Bryant's final stat line totaled 14 points, four assists and four steals.
Some other notable stats included the Purple Knights finishing with their highest free-throw percentage of the year at 85.7% (12-for-14). They also managed a massive rebounding margin of 48-33.
UB's defense forced Caldwell to shoot just 25% (15-of-60) from the floor.
