Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team lost an East Coast Conference home affair to the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Wednesday night, 71-42. UB is now 5-22 overall and 3-12 in the ECC. STAC moves to 20-6 overall and 12-3 in conference play.
Juniors Janiece Loney (Herndon, Va.) and Alyzae Davis (Bronx, N.Y) led the Purple Knights with 10 points apiece.
Freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) added nine points for UB, and senior Judit Valls Dellavalle (Barcelona, Spain) had a solid all-around game with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Ruth Adams led STAC with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team closes out its regular season schedule at home on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Senior Day game versus Mercy College. Bridgeport can still qualify for the ECC Championship Tournament with a win on Saturday and a loss by the University of the District of Columbia against St. Thomas Aquinas.
