Senior Samnell Vonleh Earns Second Straight ECC Women's Basketball Player Of The Week Honor

West Babylon, N.Y.-For the second consecutive week, University of Bridgeport senior women's basketball standout Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Player of the Week. This week, Vonleh shares the award with Emily Miller of Roberts Wesleyan College.
Last week, Samnell averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds plus blocked four shots, had two assists and registered a steal as she helped UB to wins over Molloy and Queens. In a road victory at Molloy, Vonleh had 23 points and nine boards, and she finished the week at home with 17 points and six rebound in the Purple Knights' triumph over Queens. On the week, she shot 55.6 percent from the floor.
So far this season, Vonleh leads Bridgeport in both scoring and rebounding averaging 15.0 points and 8.9 boards per game, plus she has blocked a total of 54 shots in 24 games played.
This week, the UB women's basketball team hosts LIU Post on Wednesday night and travels to NYIT on Saturday afternoon.
