Bridgeport Women's Basketball Topped By Molloy, 73-61
Purple Knights Will Look To Get Back In Win Column At Queens (N.Y.) On Saturday Afternoon
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team fell 73-61 in a home East Coast Conference contest versus the Molloy College Lions Thursday night. The loss brings the Purple Knights to an overall record of 5-10 and a conference mark of 3-4. The Lions up their overall record to 4-11, and they are now 3-4 in conference play.
Bridgeport trailed the entire first half due in large part to ice cold shoot (26.5 % from the floor), The Purple Knights battled back in the second half even taking a lead in the third quarter, but the fourth quarter proved to be a tough one for UB as Molloy outscored the hosts, 23-14, to post the win.
Bridgeport freshman Kadijah Dickson (Queens, NY.) had the only double-double in the game with 19 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Two more Purple Knights posted double-digit scoring, as freshman Briana Stoddart (Brooklyn, NY) shad 15 points and sophomore Sofia Ermeidou (Athens, Greece) netted 10 points.
Molloy's Kimani Jackson finished a game-high 28 points.
The Purple Knights return to play on Saturday, January 16 visiting ECC opponent Queens College. Tip-off is set for 1:30 pm.
