Unbeaten NYIT Tops Women's Basketball, 72-53
Purple Knights Back In Action At Queens (N.Y.) On Wednesday Night
Bridgeport, Conn.-The New York Institute of Technology women's basketball team remained undefeated on the season at 13-0 overall and 5-0 in the East Coast Conference with a wire-to-wire 72-53 victory over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon. UB is now 8-6 overall and 3-3 in conference action.
Graduate student Nikki Jo Rotolo led NYIT by scoring a game-high 22 points and finishing with a double-double with 12 rebounds. Rotolo was joined in double-digit scoring for the Bears by Charlene Riddick with 19 points.
Priscilla Dodoo (Grad., Worcester, Mass.) led Bridgeport in scoring with 14 points, all of which came in the second half.
UB senior Tanisha Carter (East Hartford, Conn.) had a solid game notching a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Aziza Patterson (Jr., Teaneck, N.J.) with 12 points and Jenna Hoffman (So., Manchester Center, Vt.) with 11 points rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Purple Knights on the day.
The Bridgeport women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday night when they travel to Queens (N.Y.) College. Game time in Flushing is set for 5:00 p.m.
