Tanisha Carter Earns First Team All-ECC Women's Basketball Honors

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport junior women's basketball standout Tanisha Carter (East Hartford, Conn.) has earned a spot on the 2012 All-East Coast Conference First Team.  The All-ECC teams are selected in a vote of league coaches, and the results were announce on Friday evening prior the 2012 East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Championship semifinals and finals which will be played at Queens (N.Y.) College this weekend.

In her first season in a Bridgeport uniform, Carter led the Purple Knights in both scoring and rebounding averaging 17.1 points and 8.4 boards per game.  She also led the team in block shots on the year.
