Softball Falls to Wilmington to Force Winner-Take-All CACC Championship Game on Sunday
With UB coming out of the winner’s bracket today, the Purple Knights and Wildcats will now play a winner-take-all game tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

NEW CASTLE, Del. – In the championship round of the CACC Tournament, the University of Bridgeport's softball team dropped an 8-0 contest to top-seeded Wilmington on Saturday. With UB coming out of the winner's bracket today, the Purple Knights and Wildcats will now play a winner-take-all game tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
Wilmington's five-inning victory featured three runs in the first and a total of 16 hits—14 of which were singles. The Wildcats tallied at least one run in each of the five frames.
UB only managed one hit off Wilmington's CACC Pitcher of the Year, Kylee Gunkel. Sophomore Mya Jones registered a fourth-inning single.
