Caldwell, N.J.-It was a tough afternoon of softball for the University of Bridgeport in the Garden State on Tuesday afternoon, as the Purple Knights lost both ends of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against the Host Caldwell University Cougars falling game one, 6-1, and dropping the nightcap, 7-0. UB is now 16-15 overall and 6-4 in conference play. Caldwell moves to 17-8 overall, and the Cougars are 10-1 in the CACC.
In game one, junior Angela Oros (Yuma, Az.) drove in UB's lone run with a seventh inning pinch hit. Freshman Mya Jones (Milford, Del.) and two of the Purple Knights' six hits in the opener.
In game two, Bridgeport was shutout for the third time this season, as they were limited to only two hits.
Up next, the Purple Knights will look to get back in the win column at home in Seaside Park this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. when they host Felician University in a conference doubleheader.
