Manchester, N.H.-Adelphi's Faith Camilleri hit a two-out, game-winning three-run,home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Adelphi University Panthers (30-9) to a walk-off 4-2 victory of the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights (23-9) in an elimination game at the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball East Regional in Manchester, N.H.
UB scored its two runs on Friday on a two-run homer by sophomore Taylor Yates (Elk Grove, Calf.) in the third inning.
Adelphi plated an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth for their other run of the day.
Sophomore Kaite Burwaski (Hartley, Del.) took the loss for UB working a complete game in which she allowed seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Burawski closed out her awesome 2021 season with a 15-5 record.
