Clermont. Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team fell twice on day two of their Spring Break Trip to Florida on Friday, as the Purple Knights fell to Georgian Court, 9-4, and to Wilmington (Del.), 6-2. UB is now an even 2-2 on the season.
Versus GCU, sophomore Samantha Sabor (Plainfield, Illinois) had two hits, and junior Stephanie Dean (Old Lyme, Conn.) and senior Gabryelle Dubois (Carlise, Iowa) had runs batted in.
In game two, Wilmington pushed across three unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to grab the 6-5 win.
Freshman Elyssa Marmolejo (Rialto, Calif.) had three hits in Friday's second game plus an RBI. Gabryelle Dubois added two hits for the Purple Knights, as did freshman Kaira Ramon (Stamford, Conn.).
Sophomore Allison Luzzi (East Haven, Conn.) blasted a three-run homer in the second inning for Bridgeport.
On Saturday, the UB softball team will look to get back in the win column taking on Slippery Rock and Findlay.
