Clermont, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team split a pair of game on Tuesday in Florida to make their overall 4-6, as the Purple Knights opened the day with a 5-4 victory over Bemidji State and fell, 7-2, versus pace University to close out the day.
In the win against, BSU, freshman Jenna DiLorenzo (Woodbridge, Conn.) continued her hot hitting with two more hits and one RBI, and senior Imane Alou Issa (Berchem, Belgium) drove in two runs. Senior Kaila Crandall (Little Rock, Calif.) pitched a complete game to pick up her first win of 2016, as she struck out seven in seven innings.
Juniors Tara Faford (Grafton, Mass.) and Meghan O'Leary (Lafayette, N.J.) had the other RBIs in the win over the Beavers.
Versus Pace, the Purple Knights were limited to just four hits, and DiLorenzo and senior Paige Owens (Berlin, Conn.), each drove in a run
The Purple Knights will take Wednesday off and return to the diamond for the homestretch of their annual journey to Florida on Thursday when they take on Franklin Pierce University and St. Michael's College of Vermont.
