Ivan Capan Earns Another All-America Honor
2016 National Championship Meet Wraps Up On Saturday
Indianapolis, Indiana-After three days at the 2016 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championship Meet in Indianapolis, Indiana, the University of Bridgeport women's swimming team sits in 14th place with 63 points, and the UB men are in 26th place 17 points heading into Saturday's final day of action.
On Friday, junior Yekaterina Gakhokidze (Almaty, Kazakhstan) earned All-American honors in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 55.56.
She was also part of the 800 Free Relay team that earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades taking 13th place in a time of 7:35.20.
UB sophomore Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 4:55.51 to take tenth place.
On the men's side, senior Ivan Capan (Zagreb, Croatia) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 100-yard Breaststroke taking 11th place in a time of 54.25.
