PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Continuing a stretch of six straight conference games to end the season, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team was defeated at Jefferson on Saturday by a score of 86-75.
Senior guard Tim Dawson led the way for the Purple Knights with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Dawson has now scored 20-plus points in each of his last four games.
In addition to Dawson, UB had two other double-figure scorers on Saturday. Jayden Iturmendi finished with 13 points while Sam DeSouza added 12. Iturmendi also led the Purple Knights with eight rebounds.
Defensively, junior guard Nick Traill piloted Bridgeport with three steals. He continues to rank third in the CACC in total steals this season (51).
As a team, the Purple Knights shot 27-of-61 (44.3%) from the field and 5-for-16 (31.3%) from long range.
Trailing by 10 at halftime, Bridgeport was only able to cut the deficit to seven with 5:50 remaining.
