Matt Turner Leads For UB Players In Double Figures With a Game-High 20 Points
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team cut a 14-point second half deficit down to just two points, 59-57, with 3:55 to play, the visiting nationally-ranked Dominican University New York Chargers ended the contest on a 10-5 run to post a hard-fought 69-63 win over the host Purple Knights in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest in Hubbelll Gym on Tuesday night. Bridgeport is now and even 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play; while Dominican ups its overall record to an impressive 9-0, and the Chargers are 3-0 in the CACC.
Matt Turner (Grad., Trumbull, Conn.) led UB in scoring with a game-high 20 points.
Matt was joined in double figures by senior Malcolm Moye (Windsor, Conn.) with 13 points, senior Ali Sumareh (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in 12 points and junior Kelvin Reaves Jr. (Rochester, N.Y.) added 11 points.
Senior Mason Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) led the Purple Knights on the glass with 10 rebounds.
Emmanuel Smith led Dominican with a double-double of 18 points a game-high 12 rebounds.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team begins a two-game road swing to close out the week at Pace University on Thursday night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
