Slow Start To The Second Half Dooms Men's Basketball In Home Loss To Molloy
UB Back In Action At Queens On Sunday Afternoon
Bridgeport, Conn.-Trailing by one point, 32-31, at the half, the visiting Molloy College Lions opened the second half on a 17-2 run to take a 48-34 lead with 16:14 to play, and the visitors never looked back on their way to a 76-61 East Coast Conference men's basketball win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Wednesday evening in the Park City. UB is now 9-15 overall and 6-9 in the ECC. Molloy moves to 8-16 overall and 7-8 in conference action.
Sophomore Tim Dawson (New Haven, Conn.) and graduate student Nemanja Zubac (Becka Palanka, Serbia) led the Purple Knights in both scoring and rebounding, as they each has 12 points and seven rebounds.
Steven Torre led three Lions in double figures netting a game-high 20 points, and he tied for the game-high in rebounding with teammate Darren Fergus with 11 boards.
Molloy dominated the glass on Wednesday night outrebounding the Purple Knights by a 49-29 margin.
