Bridgeport Men Snap Four-Game Slide With A 76-69 Road Win Over Post University
UB Nets A Season-High 14 Three Pointers In The Victory
Waterbury, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team got some revenge on Tuesday night, as the visiting Purple Knights snapped a four-game losing skid with a 76-69 victory over the host Post University Eagles. Early this season, Post defeated UB in overtime on the Purple Knights' home floor, 89-86, on November 14. With the victory, Bridgeport is now 2-4 overall, and with the loss, Post slips to 2-3 on the season.
Junior Mason Williams (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Purple Knights' in scoring in Tuesday's win with 18 points.
He was joined in double figures by classmate Malcolm Moye (Hartford, Conn.) with 15 points, and sophomore Ryo Kobayashi (Kanagawa, Japan), who netted 12 points.
As a team, the Purple Knights connected on a season-high 14 three-point shots in the win.
Sophomore Tim Dawson (New Haven, Conn.) had a solid all-around game for Bridgeport, as he had team highs in assists with seven, rebounds with six and steals with four, plus he added nine points.
Post's Devonte McCall led all scorers in the game with 24 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Hubbell Gym to face a tough opponent in the St. Anselm College Hawks on Wednesday, December 1. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
