Men's Basketball Stumbles At Home Versus Daemen
Purple Knights Fall To Wildcats, 90-79
Bridgeport, Conn.– Gerald Beverly had notched a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds to help lead the Daemen College Wildcats to a 90-79 road East Coast Conference win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon. Four other Daemen players joined Beverly in double-digit scoring, as the Wildcats upped their overall mark to 10-6 and their conference record to 7-3. UB is now 7-8 overall and 5-4 in the ECC. Daemen trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half but rallied to grab a 40-36 halftime lead and extended their advantage to as many as 19 in the second half.
Junior Sean Berry (Irvington, N.J.) led Bridgeport with 20 points, and he was joined in double figures by junior Antoine Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with 16 points and senior Curtis Loving (Harlem. N.Y.) with 10 points. Loving led the Purple Knights on the glass with seven rebounds.
UB is back in action on Wednesday night in Washington D.C. when they take on the University of the District of Columbia. Tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
