Hot Shooting AIC Defeats Men's Basketball, 91-79
UB Now 2-2 On The Young Season
Bridgeport, Conn.-The American International College Yellow Jackets were red-hot from the floor all night, as AIC posted a 91-79, non-conference men's basketball win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Wednesday night. For the game, the Yellow Jackets hit 57.9 percent (33 of 57) of their field goals including going 12 of 23 from three-point range (12 of 23), plus AIC went 13 of 13 from the foul line (92.9 percent). With the victory, American International is now 2-3 on the season. UB is now an even 2-2 on the year.
Jason Perrier and Janek Schmidkunz led the winners in scoring, as they each netted 23 points.
Senior JoJo Swift (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Bridgeport in scoring with 24 points. Swift was joined in double-digit scoring by classmates Ognjen Zoric (Subotica, Serbia) with 14 points and Curtis Loving (Harlem, N.Y.) with 10 points.
Juniors Sean Berry (Irvington, N.J.) and Antoine Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each had nine points for the Purple Knights, and Brown led UB on the boards with six rebounds.
Next up for the Bridgeport men's basketball team is a trip to Philadelphia on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. tilt at the University of the Sciences.
