UB's Dion Waiters Leads All Of NCAA Men's Basketball In Steals Per Game
Senior Averaged 4.44 Steals Per game in 2012-13
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport men's basketball senior Dion Waiters (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished the 2012-13 season as the nation's leader in steals per game averaging 4.44 thefts per outing in 27 games played. Waiters not only led Division II in steals per game, but he led all levels of NCAA basketball in that category this season. Julius Reed of Florida Tech was second in steal this season averaging 4.04 per game.
Dion's outstanding play throughout the 2012-13 helped the Purple Knights pot a 23-10 overall record, as the team won the East Coast Conference Championship and advanced to the 2013 NCAA Division II East Regional Final. Waiters averaged 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season, and he also led UB in assists with 121 (4.5 apg.) in 2012-13.
