Purple Knights Even Men's Basketball Record At 2-2 With 83-77 Comeback Home Victory Over Post University
UB Trails By As Many As 14 In The Second Half Before Staging Rally
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team evened its season record at 2-2 with an 83-77 come-from-behind, non-conference home win over the visiting Post University Eagles on Tuesday night. The Purple were down by 12 points, 45-33, at the half, and by as many as 14 points, 55-41 with 14:29 to play in the second half before rallying for the victory.
Junior Darian David (Bronx, N.Y.) led four UB players in double-digit scoring with 19 points, 13 of which came in the second half.
David was joined in double figures by senior Eion Lewis (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who had a double-double with 16 points (13 points in the second half) and 10 rebounds, plus senior Dante Menter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Lloyd Antoine (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each netted 12 points. Antoine recorded a double-double by grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.
Post's Geraldo Fernandez led all scorers in the game with 24 points.
Bridgeport is back in action on Saturday afternoon at Goldey-Beacom College.
