UB And C.W. Post Chosen Co-Favorites In 2010-11 ECC Men's Basketball Race
Purple Knights And Pioneers Picked To Battle All Season Long For ECC Crown

Central Islip, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team and the C.W. Post Pioneers have been chosen as co-favorites in the 2010-11 East Coast Conference race in a preseason vote of ECC league coaches.
The defending ECC champion Purple Knights and the Pioneers
each received 58 points in the poll. UB garnered three first
place votes; while CWP received four first place votes.
Queens (N.Y.) College was tabbed to finish third with 50 points and one first place. The rest of the preseason ECC Men's Basketball Poll has NYIT in fourth with 41 points, Molloy in fifth with 20 points, Dowling sixth with 27 points, St. Thomas Aquinas seventh with 13 points and Mercy in eighth with 12 points.
Last season, the UB men posted a 23-9 overall record and went 18-3 in conference play.
The UB men, under the direction of head coach Mike Ruane who begins season number 11 on the Bridgeport bench this year, play exhibition games versus Fairfield University on November 1st and UConn on November 7th before opening the regular season at home on Saturday, November 13th against Assumption College.
