Worcester, Mass.-The UB baseball team got first inning runs batted in from Jeremy Rodrigues (So., Monroe, Conn.), Anthony Pascale (Jr., Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Shane McCone (Sr., Milford, Conn.), but the host Assumption University Greyhounds would score the 14 of the next 15 tallies on their way to a 14-4 win in eight innings over the Purple Knights in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon. Bridgeport is now 7-28 overall; while Assumption is now 10-21 on the season.
Pascale and sophomore Christian Ortiz (Linden, N.J.) each had two hits on the afternoon for UB, and freshman James Ackerman (Smithtown, N.Y.) had his team's other RBI.
Up next, the UB baseball team is slated to return to conference play on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at Caldwell University.
