Myrtle Beach, S.C.-The UB baseball continued its four-game series in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with local rival the University of New Haven on Saturday at the Ripken Experience, and the Purple Knights (2-8) lost both ends of a doubleheader against the Chargers (5-2), falling in game one, 10-4, and dropping the nightcap, 6-1.
In game one, senior Tyler Sharfetz (Fords, N.Y.) had two hits, including a home run, and junior Anthony Pascale (Stony Brook, N.Y.) also had a pair of base hits and drove in two runs.
In the nightcap, Craig Leonard (Grad., Holtsville, N.Y.) drove in the Purple Knights' lone run with a a seventh-inning RBI single.
Up next, the Bridgeport baseball team will close out its Spring Trip and the four-game series with New Haven with a 9:00 a.m. single game at the Ripken Experience with the Chargers.
