Altamonte Springs, Fla.-A three-run home run by John Chacho (Fr., Seymour, Conn.) in the first inning, a two-run homer by Alex Rauso (Sr., Trumbull, Conn.) in the fifth inning, and an RBI by Ryan Donnelly (Soph., Fairfield, Conn.) in the sixth inning help lift the University of Bridgeport baseball team to a 6-3 win over the Bentley University Falcons, 6-3, in Florida on Tuesday. UB is now 5-4-1 on the season, and Bentley slips to 3-9. Tuesday's win gives UB a 3-1 series win over the Falcons in their games played in the Sunshine State.
Freshman Jagger Duquette (Bristol, Conn.) started Tuesday game and earned the win to raise his season record to 2-0, as he pitched seven innings in which he allowed seven hits, one run (earned), with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Sophomore Justin Hafele (Shelton, Conn.) worked 1.1 innings of hitless relief to earn his fourth save of the season.
After taking Wednesday off, the UB baseball team will return to the diamond on Thursday for its final game in Florida when the Purple Knights will face Assumption College at 11:00 a.m.
