UB Baseball Still Looking For First Win In Florida After 3-1 Friday Loss To Bentley
Same Two Teams Will Meet On Saturday In Tampa For A 12 Noon Doubleheader
Tampa, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team remains in search of its first win in the Sunshine State of Florida on the team's 2017 Spring Break Trip, as the Purple Knights fell to the Bentley University Falcons on Friday afternoon, 3-1, in a game played at the University of Tampa. UB is now 2-7 overall, and Bentley moves to 2-10 on the year.
In Friday's game, the Purple Knights were limited to only six hits by Falcons' starter Bill Sullivan, who also struck out seven and walked only two during his complete game performance. UB also committed four errors in the loss.
Senior Dylan Steigerwald (Holbrook, N.Y.) had three of Bridgeport's six hits on Friday, and graduate student Chris Triano (Greenwich, Conn.) drove in his team's lone run with a sixth inning double.
The UB baseball team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon when the same two team continue their four-game series in Tampa with a 12 noon doubleheader.
