Purple Knights Cruise To Straight Sets ECC Volleyball Win Over Visiting Roberts Wesleyan
Bridgeport Takes The Match, 25-10, 25-20, 25-11
Bridgeport, Conn.- The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team moved to 17-4 overall and 4-1 in the East Coast Conference with a straight sets, 25-10, 25-20, 25-11m home win over the visiting Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks on Sunday afternoon in the Park City. With the loss RWC slips to 1-16 overall and 1-3 in the ECC.
Sophomore Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch. Colo.) hit .562 in the match, as she led the Purple Knights' offense with nine kills.
As a team, Bridgeport recorded a .342 hitting percentage on the day and also had 13 service aces.
Senior Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) hit .636 on the afternoon and added seven kills for the winners, and classmates Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) plus Makayla Maroney (Parker, Colo.) each had six kills for UB. Knight finished as her team's leader in digs with seven in the three sets.
Sophomore Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) led Bridgeport with 15 assists, and junior Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) chipped in 13 helpers.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team continues its eight-match homestand with a non-conference clash against Stonehill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
