Volleyball Rolls To Tenth Straight Win With 3-0 Victory At Molloy
UB Now 22-4 Overall And 14-1 In Conference Play
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its tenth straight win and raised its overall record to 22-4 and its East Coast Conference mark to 14-1 with a straight sets road win over the Molloy College Lions on Monday night. The Purple Knights won all three sets by identical 25-17 scores. Molloy closes out its 2012 season with an 8-21 overall record and a 6-10 conference record.
Sophomore Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) led UB blasting a match-high 17 kills, and she notched a double-double recording 13 digs. Savic hit .591 on the night, as she had 17 kills on 27 attempts with only one error.
Classmate Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) had eight kills and 10 digs for the victorious Purple Knights. Shen hit .571, slamming her eight kills with no errors on 14 attempts.
As a team, Bridgeport hit .432 at Molloy.
Sophomore Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) was strong on defense at the net recording five blocks (three solos).
