Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport volleyball team had a .395 attack percentage for the match (45 k-11-e-86 ta) as the Purple Knights raised their overall record to 18-4 and their first place East Coast Conference mark to 10-1 with a straight sets (25-11, 25-22, 25-21) home win over the Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday afternoon. QC falls to 3-20 overall and 3-9 in ECC play.
Sophomores Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) had 15 kills and Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) added 14 kills to lead the UB offense on Saturday. Savic hit .480 on the day and added 10 digs and two service aces; while Shen hit .591 and added two service aces plus a pair of digs and two block assists for the winners.
Sophomore setter Fernanda Silva (Brasilia, Brazil) directed the Purple Knights offense with 30 assists on the day
Judith Duekert (Sr., Berlin, Germany) helped Bridgeport to the victory chipping in five kills and three block assists.
