Bio

Chris Flaherty enters his fourth season as the Purple Knights’ goalkeeper coach. Coach Flaherty was part of the coaching staff in a volunteer capacity in 2018, but upon capturing the program’s and school’s first ever NCAA National Championship he was elevated to goalkeeper coach and after the departure of Magnus Nilerud remained on head coach Tania Armellino's staff.

Coach Flaherty recently finished his Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Sport Management from Mitchell College in New London, CT.

Originally from Liverpool, England, Flaherty holds level 1 & 2 badges from the English Football Association and Advanced National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. At Mitchell, Flaherty had a successful playing career and was team captain in two of his seasons. He also earned All National first and second team recognitions.

He currently coaches for CFC and with various town programs. He is the owner of Kickerz Soccer Coaching company and a Director for FC New England.

Flaherty and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Trumbull, Connecticut.

He also serves as an assistant coach for the UB men's soccer program.
