UB Women's Soccer Trio Selected To NCAA Division II All-East Region Squads By United Soccer Coaches
Maegen Doyle, Roosa Ariyo And Rebekka Skaasheim Add To Their Postseason Accolades
Kansas City, Mo.-A trio of University of Bridgeport women's soccer players have been recognized by the United Soccer Coaches organization for their outstanding performances during the 2019 season with selections to the NCAA Division II All-East Region Team.
Senior forward Maegen Doyle (Harwich, England) earned a spot on the First Team All-East Region squad, and classmate defender Roosa Ariyo (Espoo, Finland) plus junior Rebekka Skaasheim (Balestrand, Norway) were named Second Team All-Region.
Earlier the season, all three standouts were selected First Team All-East Coast Conference and earned spots on the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CAA) All-East Region Team
Doyle, who was selected as the 2018 and 2019 East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year plus was named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Player of the Year after helping UB to last year's national title, finished 2019 with 16 goals and nine assists for 41 points.
Ariyo, a First Team All-Conference selection, made a successful transition from offense to defense this season for Bridgeport and still finished 2019 with three goals and one assist.
Skaasheim was selected as the 2019 ECC Defensive Player of the Year, and she also added two goals and two assists this season for a total of six points.
