Amherst, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team picked up a hard-fought 1-0 East Coast Conference road win over the host Daemen College Wildcats by a 1-0 score on Saturday in Western New York. UB is now 4-4-1 overall and a perfect 3-0-0 in conference play. The Wildcats, who suffered their first loss of 2019, are now 6-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the ECC.
Senior Maegen Doyle (Harwich, England) scored the only goal of the match in the 66th minute off and assist from Rebekka Skaasheim (Balestrand, Norway). Doyle now has a total of 13 goals on the 2019 season.
Bridgeport freshman goalkeeper Helena Dahlstrom (Stockholm, Sweden) was outstanding for the Purple Knights making six saves including stopping a penalty kick at the 76:38 mark to keep her team in the lead.
