Old Westbury, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team play a strong game on Tuesday afternoon, but the Purple Knights saw their six-game winning streak snapped by number 24 ranked NYIT, as UB fell on Long Island, 13-10 in East Coast Conference action. UB is now 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the ECC. NYIT moves to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Junior Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with three goals on the day, and senior Courtney Forry (Reinholds, Pa.) had a three-point day with two goals and an assist.
Sophomore Julia Ruscio (St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada) rounded out the Bridgeport players with multiple goals netting two on Tuesday.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. for a key East Coast Conference game against Roberts Wesleyan College. Opening draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m
