Bridgeport Women's Lacrosse Team Set To Open 2018 Season At Home Versus New Haven This Wednesday Afternoon
Team Faces A Challenging Slate Of Games Throughout the 2018 Campaign
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team will open its rigorous, 15-game schedule for the 2018 season under the direction of new head coach Mikayla Place this Wednesday afternoon at Knights at 3:00 p.m. Eight of the team's 2018 games will be at friendly confines of Knights Field, and four games will be against teams who finished ranked in the final IWLCA Coaches' Poll in the 2017 season.
As mentioned before, UB starts the 2018 season at home on Wednesday, February 28 versus the seventh ranked University of New Haven Chargers, as they visit Knights Field for the first time. The team will then play its non-conference slate to start off March. The Purple Knights take on close out of state rivals, American International College on March 8, and Dominican (N.Y.) College (N.Y.) on March 12. UB visits Nyack on St. Patrick's Day and will be back at home against Chestnut Hill on March 19. On March 26, UB starts the first of nine conference games with number 12 NYIT coming to Knights Field. To close out the month of March. Bridgeport travels to Caldwell on the 29 and then will host Post University on the 31.
The Purple Knights return to conference play in the month of April, visiting fifth-ranked LIU Post on April 4 and then hosting Roberts Wesleyan College on April 8. Up next, a trip to Queens (N.Y.) on the 11 and then back on Knights Field against St. Thomas Aquinas for a Senior Day affair on April 14. Rounding out the schedule for the UB women's laxers will finish with Molloy at home on April 20 and then a two-game road trip to the University of District of Columbia on April 22 and to number 11 Mercy College on April 25 before conference tournament play begins.
