Gymnast Julianna Roland Selected To The 2020 CoSIDA Women's At-Large Academic All-District 1 Team
Sophomore Helped The Purple Knights To Another Outstanding Campaign This Season
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport gymnast, sophomore Julianna Roland (Lumberton, N.J.) has been selected to the 2020 CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) NCAA Division II Women's At-Large Academic All-District 1 Team.
The 2020 Academic All-District® At-Large team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on their sports and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. National At-Large Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-June.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and be at least a sophomore academically.
Sports included in the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large program include bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
A Social Sciences major, Roland earned ECAC Scholar Athlete of the Year honors in 2020, as well as First Team USAG All-America honors in the all-around, the floor exercise, the vault plus the balance beam. In 2019, she was an NCAA Individual Event Qualifier in the vault.
