Gymnastics Holds Its Own Versus Strong Division I Competition At The University of Arizona
UB Posts A Team Score Of 193.250 On Sunday
Tucson, Arizona-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team traveled to University of Arizona to take on some staunch Division I competition on Sunday, and the Purple Knights took third place in the tri-meet with the host Wildcats and Ohio State University posting a team score of 193.250. Arizona took first place with a 196.350, and OSU was second with a team total of 195.700.
As a team on Sunday, UB scored a 48.775 on the vault, a 48.300 on the bars, a 48.100 on the balance beam, and a 48.075 in the floor exercise.
Senior Maya Reimers (New York, N.Y.) held her own in the meet taking second place on the balance beam with a score of 9.875 and finishing in a third place tie in the floor exercise at 9.825.
Junior Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) took second place on the bars for the Purple Knights scoring a 9.875, and Jordan Streete (So., Agawam, Mass.) posted a career-best 9.850 on the vault to finish tied for third.
Sophomore Julianna Roland (Lumberton, N.J.) posted a total of 37.275 in Sunday's four events as the only all-arounder.
