Gymnastics Takes First Place At Temple's Ken Anderson Invitational With Season-High Score Of 195.350
Team Back In Action At Towson Next Friday
Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team posted a season-high team score of 195.350 to take first place at the Ken Anderson Invitational hosted by Temple University on Friday evening. Temple took second place on Friday with a total of 194.950, and Ursinus was third with 183.300.
As a team, UB scored 49.050 in the floor exercise, 48.800 on the bars, 48.775 on the beam and 48.725 on the vault.
Three Purple Knights tied for first on the bars with a scores of 9.825 in sophomore Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada), graduate student Kelli Tereshko (Madison, Indiana) and senior Kelly Aycock (Locust Grove, Ga.). Aycock's score was a career-high.
On the floor, freshman Crystal Gwinn (New Port Richey, Fla.) took first place with a 9.875 and Aycock plus freshman Julianna Roland (Lumberton, N.J.) tied for fourth place with a score of 9.825.
Roland won Friday's all-around posting a score of 39.100 for the four events.
On the balance beam, junior Maya Reimers (New York, N.Y.) grabbed first place with a score of 9.875, and Julianna Roland and Delaney Cahill (Medford Lakes, N.J.) tied for fourth with scores of 9.775.
On the vault, sophomore Gabrielle Kistner (Raleigh, N.C.) and Roland tied for second posting scores of 9.825.
Up next, the UB women's gymnastics team will travel to Towson University next Friday evening for a tri-meet with the Tigers and Southern Connecticut State. Meet time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
