Bridgeport, Conn.-Junior Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) scored 13 points off the University of Bridgeport bench and added four assists, four rebounds and two steals, but the Purple Knights fell to the visiting Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks, 64-48, in an East Coast Conference women's basketball contest on Sunday afternoon. UB is now 4-19 overall and 2-9 in conference play. RWC ups its second mark to 12-9, and they are 5-6 in the ECC.
Senior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.), junior Janiece Loney (Herndon, Va.) and freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.), each scored eight points for the Purple Knights, and senior Jaqualah Holliman (Boston, Mass.) led the team on the glass with seven rebounds, plus she chipped in seven points on the day.
Emily Miller led four Redhawks in double-digit scoring with a game-high 17 points.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will travel to our Nation's Capital this Saturday, February 15 when they take on the University of the District of Columbia. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
