Sparkill, N.Y-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team held a four-point, 53-49, lead on the road over East Coast Conference leading St. Thomas Aquinas College, but the host Spartans closed the game on a 24-7 run over the final 7:52 after trailing 59-51 to notch a 75-66 victory over the Purple Knights. UB is now 4-15 overall and 2-5 in conference play. STAC moves to 15-3 overall and an unblemished 7-0 in the ECC.
Senior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) led UB in scoring with 18 points, and she also grabbed nine rebounds off the Purple Knights' bench.
Junior guard Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) nearly had a triple-double for Bridgeport finishing the evening with 13 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Classmate Alyzae Davis (Bronx. N.Y.) finished off the three Purple Knights in double-digit scoring on Wednesday night 12 points.
STAC's Melissa Sadler led all scorers on the night with 22 points.
The UB women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday at 12 noon when the Purple Knights face Mercy College in an East Coast Conference clash.
