UB Women Battle By Fall Just Short Versus New York Tech
Three Players Reach Double Figure Scoring On The Day
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team battled the visiting New York Tech Bears on Saturday afternoon in a home East Coast Conference contest, as the host Purple Knights cut a 14-point, third quarter deficit down to only two points at 64-62 with 2:23 to play, but UB fell to the visitors by a 69-64 score. Bridgeport is now 4-14 overall and 2-4 in the ECC. New York Tech moves to 10-8 overall, and the Bears are now an even 3-3 in conference play.
Three Purple Knights reached double-figure scoring on Saturday led by junior Alyzae Davis (Bronx. N.Y.) with 15 points. Davis was joined in double digits by freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) with 14 points, and classmate Janiece Loney (Herndon, Va.) netted 10 points.
Senior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) led UB on the glass grabbing eight rebounds.
New York Tech's Meg Knollmeyer led all scorers on the day with 18 points.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will look to snap a five-game losing skid on Wednesday night when the Purple Knights travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College for an East Coast Conference match-up. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
