Fairfield, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team renewed a long-time rivalry with Park Avenue neighbor Sacred Heart University, and the Purple Knights gave the Division I Pioneers all they could handle posting a 77-63 victory. UB is now 0-4 on the young season; while the Pioneers even their season mark at 2-2.
Freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) led the Purple Knights with a season-high 25 points.
Junior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) topped Bridgeport on the glass with seven rebounds.
SHU's Adrianne Hagood led all scorers on the day with 29 points, and teammate Jessica Woods finished with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will travel to Concordia (N.Y.) College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
