Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team picked up its second win of the 2018-19 season on Thursday night, as the Purple Knights topped the host Lightening of Goldey-Beacom College, 61-56, in a non-conference game. UB is 2-3 overall, and GBC slips to 4-3 on the season.
UB got a pair of double-double in the win, as graduate student Nkechi "NK" Ilang (Ebonyi State, Nigeria) led the Purple Knights with 17 points and added 10 rebounds, and senior Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) had 13 points and also grabbed 10 boards.
Senior guard Sarah Middleton (Barrington, R.I.) rounded out the Bridgeport players in double-digit scoring with 13 points.
Up next, the UB women's hoops team will travel to Georgian Court University of a noon tilt on Saturday.
